Ito Kashitaro is a singer-songwriter who burst onto the scene after gaining attention in the so-called “utattemita” videos, uploading his performances of cover songs on video hosting services and social media.  Today, he is a multi-talented artist who is also a voice actor, a novelist and a radio presenter, with music as his main focus.  He has a huge following among young internet and social media users while mysteriously keeping his face hidden at all times in media appearances wearing a fox mask which has become his trademark.

     Since 2020 Ito Kashitaro has been working on various music productions, releasing five anime theme songs in collaboration with KADOKAWA-led animations, while signing to Victor Entertainment’s CONNEXTONE label in 2021 in order to be able to express and create more of his own music when he is not working on anime-related projects.  The theme of his fourth studio album MAHOUWOKIKUHITO is “stories” and each of its ten tracks has a story of its own as if in a book.  The album, which will include the "Storyteller" Series that was made available over a period of four consecutive months since November, 2022, will drop on November 8, 2023.

          He is also well-known in the Asian territory outside of his native Japan, having performed in China, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.  In 2019 he embarked on a four-show solo tour in China and in 2022 he was invited to perform at AnimagiC 2022 in Germany, one of the major anime festivals in the EU territory.  In the last week of October 2023, the Japan Foundation will host "Ito Kashitaro ASEAN Tour 2023 in the Philippines and Vietnam" in Manila and Hanoi respectively, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation.

     Alongside his musical activities, in 2018 he wrote his first novel Katei Kyoshitsu, which touched the hearts of many teenagers accumulating whopping sales of 70,000 copies, an exceptional sales achievement for a newcomer.  To date, two of his works have been translated and published in Taiwan.
