From the time he was a teenager, Akira Kushida sang rhythm and blues while playing the drums at the U.S. base camp.
Akira made his debut in 1969 with “Karappo No Seishun/ Sam Jiisan” from TOSHIBA/EXPRESS label and appeared on a TV music show of NHK “STAGE 101”.

Thereafter, Kushida started his career with theme songs of “SUNVULCAN” in 1981. He is well known for his musical works most notably for Tokusatsu productions and anime programs, but also famous for advertisement and video game songs. 

Kushida sang a theme song of an anime “TORIKO” broadcast from 2011 to 2014. It made him popular among children and now three generations listen to his music.

Furthermore, he has many fans all over the world and he has actually been invited to countless events outside of Japan.

Kushida's powerful but heartwarming singing attracts music fans regardless of nationalities.

10代の頃から米軍のベースキャンプでドラムをたたきながらリズム＆ブルースを歌う。

1969年「からっぽの青春／サムじいさん」で東芝エクスプレスよりデビュー、 NHK「ステージ101」に出演。その後、1981年の「太陽戦隊サンバルカン」を皮切りに特撮・ヒーロー、アニメソングを中心にCMソング、ゲームソフトのテーマ等で活躍。

2011～14年放送のアニメ「トリコ」OPテーマを担当。親子三代にわたり聴かれる存在となっている。また海外イベントにも多数招待されており、 海外にも多くのファンを持つ。

力強く、それでいて暖かい歌声は海を越えて聴く人を魅了し続けている。
