When Hironobu was 16 years old, he played in his debut performance with the rock band Lazy on a TV show called "Hello Young" on Osaka's ABC network. As a result of this performance, he garnered the accolades of Hiroshi Kamayatsu.

1977 - "Hey I Love You" was released by RVC (now BMG Funhouse). He gained massive popularity as Lazy's vocalist, known as Michelle. Other major hits were "Akazukinchan Goyoujin" and "Dreamer" and the like. Lazy had major impact on Japan's rock scene with albums like their last album, "Uchuusen Chikyuugou", and their last live album, "Moetsukitaseishun".
1985 - After moving to Nippon Columbia, Hironobu started to sing theme songs for TV movies and animated programs, aside from his original music. His monumentally first creation was "Dengekisentai Changeman". Hironobu's first theme song for an animated series was "Uchuusen Sagittarius".
1989 - Theme song for Fuji TV's Dragon Ball Z, "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" was released.
1992 - Awarded the Performing Arts for an Album Award by the Recording Industry Association of Japan for the "Choujinsentai Jetman" Hit Collection.
1993 - Released "WE GOTTA POWER", the theme song for the 2nd Generation Dragon Ball Z animated series (ranked 5th on the Oricon pop chart), and "Bokutachi ha Tenshidatta".
1994 - Released "WE ARE REYSOL", the team song for the the J League's Kashiwa Reysol
1995 - Released "POWER LIVE CYVOX", his first live video. Performed his first overseas concert in Manila, Republic of the Philippines, and received a great response.
1997 - Performed a 20th Anniversary concert at the Akasaka Blitz. Released a five CD boxset called "Eternity" in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of his debut.
1998 - Lazy reunited for the first time in 17 years. Hironobu made his first try at stage performance as Goemon Ishikawa in the musical "Animecal Lupin the Third".
1999 - Appeared in Nippon TV's Yorumo Hippare, NHK's Top Runner, and other TV shows. He made semi-regular appearances in CX TV's Kaishingeki! Utaemon.
2000 - Released original albums entitled "I'm in you" and "Akogina Futaritabidaze!"
Performed acoustic concerts on a nationwide tour with Masaaki Endo called the Akogina Futaritabidaze!! Formed a super anime song group, JAM Project with Ichiro Mizuki, Rika Matsumoto, Eizou Sakamoto, and Masaaki Endo)
2001 _ Produced his first album for voice-over actress Sakura Nogawa. Appeared at Japan Expo2001 in Barcelona.
2002 _ Sang “Ima Kazenonakade”, the ending theme song for Ninnfuusentai Harikenja.
Formed TRYFORCE, a music creation unit with Kenichi Suga, Yogo Kawano, and Kizen Kuriyama.
2003 _ Started a solo acoustic live tour.
Participated in ANIME FRIENDS 2003, South America’s largest anime event in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with Akira Kushida (Appeared at the event for three straight years)
2004 _ Collaborated on several projects as an author and composer. Successfully held a sold out concert at the Hibiya Outdoor Auditorium as the leader of JAM Project for the first time.
2005 _ Extremely busy year taken up by his activities as a producer, author, and his ongoing concerts called “Lifework”.
Released his first original album, “Cold Rain” in December, the first since 2000. Released a compilation of new material and self-cover songs.
2006 _ At the beginning of the year, he received multiple offers to perform at Anison events in Taiwan, Spain, Paris, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, the U.S. and other nations around the world.
It is anticipated that he will take his international performances to the next level.

１６才のときロックバンド“ＬＡＺＹ（レイジ－）”で、大阪ＡＢＣ放送の「ハロ－ヤング」に出演した際、かまやつひろし氏に認められデビュ－。１９７７年 ＲＶＣ（現ＢＭＧファンハウス）より「Ｈｅｙ Ｉ Ｌｏｖｅ Ｙｏｕ」をリリース。「“ＬＡＺＹ（レイジ－）”のボーカル“ミッシェル”」として絶大な人気を得る。

代表曲には「赤頭巾ちゃん御用心」「Dreamer」など名曲を残し、ラストアルバム「宇宙船地球号」とラストライブアルバム「燃えつきた青春」はその後の日本のロックバンドに多大な影響を与えた。

１９８５年 日本コロムビアに移籍後オリジナル作品以外にテレビ映画やアニメ主題歌を歌い始める。その記念すべき第一作目は「電撃戦隊チェンジマン」。アニメ主題歌の第一作目は「宇宙船サジタリウス」。

１９８９年 フジテレビ系ドラゴンボ－ルＺ主題歌「ＣＨＡ－ＬＡ ＨＥＡＤ－ＣＨＡ－ＬＡ」リリ－ス。

１９９２年 「鳥人戦隊ジェットマンヒット曲集」で日本レコ－ド協会ゴ－ルドディスク大賞『アルバム賞学芸部門』受賞。

１９９３年 ドラゴンボ－ルＺ二代目主題歌「ＷＥ ＧＯＴＴＡ ＰＯＷＥＲ」（オリコンポップスチャート５位を記録）「僕たちは天使だった」リリ－ス。

１９９９年 日本テレビ系「夜もヒッパレ」・ＮＨＫ「トップランナ－」など多数のＴＶ出演。ＣＸ「快進撃！うたえモン」準レギュラー出演。

２０００年 オリジナルアルバム「 I’m in you 」「アコギな二人旅だぜ！！」リリース。
遠藤正明とアコースティック ライヴ「アコギな二人旅だぜ！！」を 全国的にスタ－ト。最終公演（心斎橋BIGCAT）はライブアルバムに。

スーパーアニソンユニットＪＡＭ Ｐｒｏｊｅｃｔ（水木一郎・影山ヒロノブ・松本梨香・さかもとえいぞう・遠藤正明）を結成。

２００１年 プロデューサーとして声優・野川さくらのデビューＣＤを初プロデュース。
海外公演「ジャパンＥＸＰＯ２００１ in バルセロナ」に出演。

２００２年 「忍風戦隊ハリケンジャ－」ＥＤ曲「いま風のなかで」を歌唱。
音楽制作ユニット“ＴＲＹＦＯＲＣＥ”（須藤賢一・河野陽吾・栗山善親・影山ヒロノブ）を結成。

２００３年 アコ－スティック ソロライブツア－始動。
ブラジル・サンパウロでの南米最大のアニメイベント「ANIME FRIENDS2003」に出演。串田アキラと共に参加する。（２００５年まで３年連続で参加）

２００４年 作家・コンポーザーとしても多くの作品に参加する。
リーダーを務めるJAM Projectが初めての日比谷野外音楽堂でのライブで満員の集客をおさめ大成功させる。

２００５年 「ライフワーク」と位置づけるソロアコースティックライブを続けつつ、作家活動・プロデュース業・JAM Projectなどたくさんの顔をもち多忙な
アーティスト活動を送る。

２０００年以来のオリジナルアルバム「cold rain」を１２月に発表。セルフカバー＆書き下ろし新曲を集めてリリース。

２００６年 年始から台湾を皮切りにスペイン、パリ、韓国、ブラジル、メキシコ、アメリカなど世界各国から「Anison」イベントの出演オファーをうける。より一層のワールドワイドな活動が期待されている。
