Announcing the participation outline for the 18th Tokyo International Music Market（18th TIMM)/TIMM ONLINE
to be held on November 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
～Entries for exhibitors and live music showcase accepted from Aug 2nd
The Tokyo International Music Market (TIMM) is an event that brings together professionals of the music industry from Japan and abroad with the common goal of taking Japanese music overseas. Last year, in light of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the event was held for the first time online.
TIMM ONLINE on the TIMM official website included exhibitors' page, buyers’ list, negotiation function, and presentation posting screen for business and networking. Business seminars, presentations, and live music showcases were streamed during the event, offering the same menu as per every year available at the brick-and-mortar venue. A total of over 4,000 people (*1) visited (participated in) TIMM in those three days and actively engaged in business negotiations and networking online with 170 plus overseas buyers from 32 countries and regions around the world
Given the prolonged worldwide situation of the COVID-19 infection, it was difficult to avoid the risk of infection among the participants altogether; we concluded that the18th TIMM would be held online as with last year.
The participation outline of this year's event is as follows: In addition to online business matching and networking through TIMM ONLINE, business seminars, presentations, and live music showcases will be streamed, providing various opportunities for Japanese music to expand overseas.
(*1) The actual number of participants is for the business area only, and the total number of participants, including the showcase live, is approximately 19,000.

< About TIMM ONLINE >
・Exhibitors, buyers, and curators can access the buyers' list and use the business negotiation function to allow messaging between exhibitors and buyers and upload/view the presentation videos. This year, we plan to add new functions to support real-time online meetings (scheduled for renewal around October).
・Exhibitors will be able to have their pages on TIMM ONLINE to promote their artists/works.
Last year, the artists/works pages were BtoB content that participants could only view in the TIMM business area. However, since these pages composed in English effectively attract general fans, we plan to revamp them as PR pages for general overseas fans of Japanese music.
・The core events of TIMM ONLINE will take place over the three days mentioned above. However, we will extend the access period until June 30, 2022 for exhibitors to continue negotiations with buyers
and to have access to the seminar and performance archive. We hope that you find TIMM ONLINE useful in building medium to long-term relationships with buyers.
・Applications to exhibit(including those from last year) and registration for new buyers will start on Aug 2, 2012.
・Music industry members registered as Visitor will have free access to all business seminar presentations and live music showcases during TIMM. We are planning to stream the live music showcases to the general public worldwide, free of charge, as well. (Last year, we had access from 71 countries and regions.)
・Those who have registered as a visitor last year and wish to attend again this year can apply for registration and login using your account from last year. (Details will be announced later.)
・Those who wish to register as a new visitor will be able to log in by obtaining a new account after completing the prescribed procedures, which confirms your status as a music industry participants.
