Tokyo International Music Market (TIMM) is a B-to-B convention that brings together music industry professionals from Japan and abroad with the aim of promoting Japanese music abroad.
This year, TIMM celebrates its 20th anniversary and TIMM will be held in Tokyo as a full-fledged in-person event for the first time in four years. The venue of 20th TIMM is “TOKYU KABUKICHO TOWER” which was just opened in this Spring in Kabukicho of Shinjuku ward.
Business seminar, which is one of the main programs of TIMM, will be held on October 26 and 27 at “109 CINEMAS PREMIUM SHINJUKU” located on the 10th floor of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower. Up to 8 seminars will be held centering on topics related to the overseas expansion of music.
Masanori Takumi, who has become a big topic for winning “Best Global Music Awards” of 65th Annual Grammy Awards, which was held in Los Angeles in this February, will give a keynote speech on October 26.
He will talk about the knowledge and experience he has gained while working as a composer/arranger and artist both in Japan and overseas, the path to winning the Grammy Award, and the future development and prospects of Japanese music overseas.
Ken Ayugai, who has been active in various fields, will be the moderator of this keynote. He will also give advice to young artists and people involved in the industry who will be responsible for the future of the Japanese music industry based on his own experience,
On October 27th, there will be another session featuring artists and producers who have been successful in expanding overseas.

TIMM showcase live provides the opportunity for Japanese artists who are interested in musical activities outside of Japan and display their skills and talents to international music industry professionals.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of TIMM and to further develop it, we have named TIMM Showcase live "Matsuri". “Matsuri”, which means festival in Japanese, has been an important part of Japanese culture since ancient times.
"Matsuri" will be held in ZEPP Shinjuku for 3 days from 25 to 27 October.
"Matsuri" is a live showcase for music industry professionals, but the general audience can also see it by buying a ticket.
Today's performer announcement is the first announcement.
A total of 3 to 4 artists will appear on each day, and the full lineup will be announced shortly. For more information, please refer to the overview below or the official website.

Focusing on overseas expansion of the music industry, we will select and implement the latest topics that the industry is paying attention to. For seminar themes other than the keynote below, the detailed title and time schedule will be announced at a later date.
1 seminar is approx. 90 mins and maximum 4 program will be held per day.

About attending business seminars :
A TIMM admission pass issued to TIMM exhibitors and international buyers is required. But you can attend the seminar by purchasing “One Day Pass”. The registration for “One Day Pass” is schedule open in September 8,Friday. More details will be announced in TIMM official site shortly.
